You would have often heard mothers complaining about the bedwetting habit of their kids. Well, wetting the bed is a common problem in small children. This happens when kids pass urine in their bed while they are fast asleep.

Well, it is definitely not out of laziness. There are other reasons for it. Some of them include small bladder size, excessive urine production, delayed bladder maturation, infection in urinary tract, stress, severe constipation and hormonal imbalance.

Also, a few children who are deep sleepers do not respond to the brain signals that they need to go to the loo to pass urine. Well, this problem gets solved easily once kids glow older. However, the problem is often embarrassing for both kids and parents. There are several home remedies, which help in curing this problem of bedwetting. Take a look at a few of them.

  1. Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a wonder spice for sure. It is really helpful in curing the problem of bedwetting. This is so because this spice keeps the body warm. If your child in grown up, ask him or her to chew a stick of cinnamon once in a day. Else sprinkle some cinnamon powder on the toast in breakfast.   1. Amla

Indian gooseberry or amla is another great remedy for curing bedwetting. All you need to do is crush the amla and deseed it. Then add one spoon of honey and a pinch of turmeric powder to it. Mix well and then make you child eat it once in a day. Do it in the morning itself.

You can try another concoction by mixing a spoon of amla pulp and a pinch of black pepper. Let you child consume this mixture very day.

  1. Cranberry Juice

Cranberry juice is also a good option for problems related to bladder and urinary tract, especially bedwetting. It is often suggested that children who have the habit of bedwetting should not be given any sort of liquid before sleeping. However, cranberry juice is an exception. Give a cup of fresh cranberry juice to your child one hour prior to hitting the bed. Follow this procedure for at least a month for promising results. Moreover, if the bedwetting if happening due to infection in the urinary tract, give this juice to your child for about three times in a day.

  1. Honey

Honey is multi-purpose ingredient used for curing several skin and health related problems. And, it also solves the problem of bedwetting. Children love the taste of honey so they won’t even protest against having it.

  1. Walnuts and Raisins

Both Walnuts and raisins are helpful in reducing the efficiency and frequency of bedwetting. So, make sure that your children eat them regularly. Also, many kids love their taste as well. Give two pieces of walnuts and five pieces of raisins to your child before he hits the bed. Continue it till the frequency is reduced or stopped completely.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar works towards maintaining the pH of the body and thus, reduces the level of acid. This acid level contributes towards the problem of bedwetting.  All you need to do is add two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. Add a spoon of honey to sweeten the mixture. Let your child drink it with each meal.

  1. Mustard Seeds

To use it, just mix half teaspoon of mustard powder in a cup of lukewarm milk. Ask your child to drink it an hour before going to bed. This remedy will surely cure the problem of bedwetting.
