Fibre Rich Lazeez Parathas For A Healthy Meal
Lazzez parathas are a complete source of protein and also provides the much required fibre for the body. The dual combination of Bengal gram dal (pulse) and broken wheat (cereal) results in a complete source of protein and also provides the essential fiber content. These parathas are not only nutritious but also are rich in taste and flavor. Thanks to an amazing combination of broken wheat and Bengal gram dal, lazeez parathas are the perfect way to get in some healthy calories.
1/4 cup broken wheat (dalia)
1 tablespoon of chana dal (split bengal gram)
1 cup of whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1 tablespoon of ginger-green chilli paste
1/4 cup of chopped coriander (dhania)
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon of oil for cooking
Wash the chana dal and the broken wheat. Pressure - cook them in 3/4 cup of water for 3 long whistles and then allow it to cool completely.
Add the remaining ingredients into it and knead them into a soft dough using water but only if required.
Divide the dough into 10 equal portions. Roll each portion of the dough into a circle of 125 mm. (5") diameter.
Cook each paratha on a non-stick tava (griddle) using a dash of oil. Cook it till it is lightly brown colored on either sides.
Serve the lazeez parathas hot with low fat curds for taste.
