Clean and crack-free feet contribute importantly to personality. Cracked heels  may seem a common problem, but ignoring them may lead to deeper damage. Since our feet work hard a lot and they do not have moisturizing glands in them, they need constant moisturizing. Read further to know in details about various foot massaging options to keep them in good condition always –

Dried and cracked heels could be due to several reasons like ageing, diabetes, neglected hygiene, deficiency of vital minerals, overweight, wearing wrong footwear, or some other skin related issues. Once the cause is known, choose the right kind of scrubs or creams.

Organic / Herbal Scrubs and Creams

Brown Sugar Scrub: This foot scrub can be used in all weathers and it will keep your foot soft and clean. The best thing about this is the natural ingredients used in it that makes it safer.

  • Take two tablespoons of brown sugar and mix it with 1 tablespoon each of lemon juice, olive oil and honey. Make a thick paste of these ingredients and set aside.
  • Clean your feet by soaking them in warm water bucket for at least 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Now use the mixture to exfoliate your feet by rubbing in circular motion.
  • Once both feet are scrubbed, rinse your feet and apply moisturizer after pat drying them.

Fruity Foot Mask: Fruits like banana, papaya and avocado can moisturize feet excellently.

  • Take one banana, 2 medium slices of papaya and fleshy portion of two avocadoes.
  • Mash them well in a bowl and apply them over clean feet.
  • Keep this mask for 15 minutes and then wash with lukewarm water.
  • Apply this foot mask every week and your feet will never be chapped.

Foot Moisturizer: Once the scrub has been done and a mask has been applied to feet, it is time to moisturize them. Well-moisturized feet will never dry up or ache.

  • Mix one tablespoon of petroleum jelly with 4 to 5 drops of lime juice.
  • Apply them to your feet that are already softened after soaking in lukewarm water.
  • Massage this moisturizing mix gently for few minutes.
  • Now cover them with cotton socks for several hours.Later on scrub them well to remove dead skin.

Indulge in a Foot Spa

Treat your feet to a spa and they would carry you beautifully miles and miles ahead. Here is a mini guide for a foot spa –

  • Soak your feet in warm water that has few drops of essential added to it.
  • After soaking for 15 to 20 minutes, pat dry them with a soft towel and remove dirt and cuticle buildup.
  • Massage feet with a foot scrub, cream or a balm. If there is problem of chapped heels, don’t be too harsh in exfoliating lest they may bleed.
  • After exfoliation, rinse your feet and again keep them soaked in clean warm water.
  • Now, apply ample moisturizing cream or lotion and massage gently.
  • After 15 to 20 minutes, apply the nail paint and get radiating feet.
