Be it male or female, no one likes rough, patchy or tired-looking skin. The sun, cold weather, and dry air can take a toll on skin's texture, leaving it rough and dry. Skin is the largest organ in our body and it protects underlying tissues, muscles, ligaments bones and other internal organ. Homemade scrubs are great for healthy, glowing skin! Budget friendly, natural, always fresh, and absolutely chemical free. Why spend a fortune to have chemically altered stuff give you better skin, when you can achieve the same thing at home, with naturally occurring ingredients and with no expense whatsoever. Here are some beneficial tips to get glowing, silky and smooth skin-

  • Start each day with dry brushing- Dry brushing is an ancient and great to slough off dead skin and stimulate your body's circulation. Dry skin brushing removes dead dry skin, improving smoothness, clear your pores, and allowing your skin to breathe. In dry brushing, the skin is typically brushed toward the heart, starting at the feet and hands and brushing toward the chest. So we should always dry brushing before bath.

  • Use sunscreen every day- Sun exposure can temporarily brighten skin by giving you a tan, but in the long term it is extremely damaging. So wear every day sunscreen to prevent tan. To get rid of tan use raw tomato paste and apply on your face, after 15 minute wash it off with fresh water.

  • Moisturize your skin.As soon as you pat yourself dry after showering, apply lotion or another healing moisturizer to your skin to seal in the moisture and protect your skin from dry air throughout the day. You should only be using a moisturizer that is specifically made for the face and should only use one that contains SPF 15 sunscreen or higher. You can purchase organic skin moisturizer from organic store or online websites.

  • Don't use too much soap.Commercial body washes and scrubs, as well as many bar soaps, contain detergents that dry out your skin and leave a residue that causes it to look dull. Always use organic body wash or soap which is full of moisture and oil and there is no side effect at all.

  • Take a cool shower.Rinse off your skin with cool, not hot, water. Taking a cold shower in the morning, and feeling cold water pour down over our body seems more horrifying than soothing. If you cool water is too uncomfortable, try lukewarm water and gradually move to cooler water over time. Cool shower increases our overall oxygen intake.

  • Homemade scrub- A standard sugar scrub  is the most budget-friendly spa-like treatment you can treat yourself with. Just take one table spoon brown sugar or white sugar and mix any vegetable oil like-mustard, coconut, olive and all that, mix it well together and gently rub in skin, after 15 minutes wash it off with lukewarm water. For smooth and silky skin repeat this process once in a week.
