Have a good nights sleep with crunchy vanilla glazed walnuts
Walnuts are rich in melatonin, the primary chemical that induces sleep. Replacing a warm cup of milk with a couple of walnuts before bed helps you to fall asleep quickly. Here is a recipe for another gluten free, tasty, high protein super snack with nuts, just for a good night’s sleep.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups organic walnuts
- 1 tablespoon organic olive oil
- 2 tablespoon organic raw honey
- ¼ tablespoon salt
- 1-2 vanilla extract
- A dash of ground cinnamon
Procedure:
- Heat a skillet and turn the heat to high.
- Then turn the heat down to medium.
- Toast walnuts for 2 minutes until the nice nutty smell fills the kitchen.
- Don’t let the walnuts burn.
- Add honey and mix well to distribute it around the skillet until all the walnuts are coated with honey.
- Add salt and vanilla extract and give a quick stir
- Remove walnuts from pan and add a dash of cinnamon.
- Let it cool and store in a mason jar and refrigerate it.
Serving suggestion:
Just munch a handful or 5-6 walnuts before bedtime to have a sound sleep. You can also crush these walnuts with a mortar and pestle and add it to your smoothie, ice cream and other desserts for extra crunchiness.
