  1. Garlic

Its anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties boost the immune system by clearing all respiratory passages. To treat and prevent symptoms of cold, add two teaspoons of lemon juice to one crushed clove of garlic. Then, add one spoon of honey and half spoon cayenne pepper. A daily consumption of this mixture helps in reducing the symptoms of common cold. You can also boil a few cloves of garlic in water and then add honey to it. Strain and drink this liquid for about three times a day. Boil four to five chopped garlic cloves in a cup of water and add one teaspoon of honey. Drink it two to three times a day. Eating raw garlic on empty stomach can also help.

  1. Honey

Honey is known for providing relief to a sore throat, thus reducing the time span of common cold. Since it is rich in nutrients and enzymes, it is helpful is destroying cold-causing bacteria and viruses. To use it all you need to do is mix two spoons of honey with one spoon of lemon juice. Savour this concoction at least three times a day. This will provide instant relief for sure.

  1. Ginger

We often savour ginger based tea during winters. It is so because its antiseptic properties keep symptoms of common cold at bay. It also provides heat to the body, thus keeping you warm during cold months. If you consume raw ginger or may be ginger a few times in a day, it will heal your cold woes. Alternately, you can prepare a concoction of ginger paste, crushed garlic, cloves and salt.  Consuming it twice in a day can easily cure your common cold. Besides, if you have a runny nose, make a concoction of ginger powder, ghee and jiggery. Consume it on empty stomach every morning.

  1. Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a super spice, which is known for curing various types of ailments. From treating cancer and aiding weight loss to curing cold, it does it all. Cinnamon is really helpful in treating sore throat, which is a common symptom of cold. To use it, mix about one spoon of cinnamon powder and two cloves to a pan to boiling water. Let it boil for about 20 minutes and then, turn off the flame. Allow the liquid to cool down and then strain. Drink it while it is lukewarm. You can also add some honey to it to enhance its taste.   1. Spice Tea

A mix of spices can help in healing your cold woes. To consume them, you can prepare a tea. For this, you need four spoons of coriander seeds, one spoon of cumin and fennel seeds each and a few fenugreek seeds. Dry roast all these spices and then, grind to form a powder. Boil some water in a pan and add half spoon of this spice powder and one spoon of misri. Simmer the flame for five minutes. Now add a few spoons of milk to this liquid. Stir well and strain. Sip it every day till the symptoms subside.
