Home remedies to get itch & dandruff free scalp

Dandruff is a common disorder of the scalp that is caused by dry and irritated oily skin, bacteria and fungus infection on the scalp. It is hard to hide the fact that you have dandruff and it can be quite embarrassing. Here is some beneficial and natural tips for prevent itchy & dandruff free scalp.


  • Henna: Henna is one of the best natural products to provide deep conditioning to hair without the harmful effects of chemicals. Using of henna improves hair growth and provides shiny and healthy hair and yes! It prevents itchy scalp and dandruff for sure.


  • Lemon Juice: Lemon juice is perhaps the most effective home remedy for reducing oiliness of hair and it also works in fighting dandruff and itchiness of scalp. Mix 3 table spoon lemon juice and 1 cup of fuller’s earth (multani mitti) with drops of water.  Apply this mixture to the scalp once a week. Lemon juice and multani mitti is best remedy for itchy and dandruff scalp.


  •   Baking Soda: The beauty benefits of this common kitchen ingredient are innumerable and Baking soda works wonders when it comes to reducing the oiliness of scalp and hair. Take the 2 tbsp of the baking soda and mix with 2 tbsp of the water. Make it as the fine paste and apply over the scalp, keep for half an hour, then wash with lukewarm water. Repeat this process one in a week for best result. Baking soda completely removes dandruff. It can fight against germs and it has anti fungal properties in it.


  • Aloe Vera Gel: Aloe Vera is an ancient beauty ingredient that is used in various beauty products for treating rashes, skin irritations, pimples and acne. You have to pluck a leaf, cut it from the middle and extract the gel from there. Aloe Vera restores the broken skin on your scalp and makes it healthy and smooth. Just take aloe Vera gel from leaf, and rub on scalp directly before hair wash. Repeat this remedy twice in a week.



  • Apple Cider Vinegar: The benefits of apple cider vinegar for improving skin tone and lightening sun tan is well known but it also helps in improving the texture and quality of hair. But you need to dilute it in water before applying it over your scalp or else it can even burn your skin. Just take 4 table spoon apple cider vinegar and mix 3 table spoon of water, mix it well together and apply on scalp with cotton ball, after half an hour wash it off with lukewarm water. For best result repeat this process twice in a week.



  • Green tea: Green tea is a power house of anti-oxidants that not only helps in reducing inflammation and the damaging effects of free radicals. An itchy scalp not only causes discomfort, but it can also be embarrassing and lead to hair loss. Consuming daily green tea makes your scalp healthy and prevents dandruff.
