My friend’s struggle to sleep ended after following my suggestion to have Walnuts before bed time
Despite earning an attractive salary as a Technical Support Executive for a reputed organization, my friend started to stumble as her white collar job had an adverse impact on her physical well-being. She was deprived of sleep, which became a daily struggle. She grew restless and tired due to the stress it had on her and was desperate to keep the job but wanted to sort out on her sleeping habits.
When I noticed her going through this frustration every single day, I asked her to try a simple remedy that I have heard before. It worked for my cousin who works for a call center so I asked her to munch a few Organic Walnuts before she goes to bed. She also gave it a try and found it to be useful to induce sleeping.
Apart from having a healthy diet that was not too spicy and having lots of fluids, she started having 5-6 walnuts every day half an hour before going to bed. She tried this for an entire week and noticed improvements in her sleeping patterns. She said she fell asleep to the soothing music of her favorite songs within 15 minutes which was otherwise impossible before.
Walnuts are rich in sleep-enhancing amino acid Tryptophan which improves the production of Seratonin and Melatonin hormones that set your sleeping patterns. Walnuts also have their own source of Melatonin, which helps you feel drowsy and sleep faster. Just 1g of Walnut contains about 2.5-4.5ng of Melatonin and an average adult requires 1-5g of Melatonin on a daily basis to help with sleeplessness.
Know your daily dose of Walnuts:
- You can have 4-7 pieces of Organic Walnuts every day. You don’t need more than that. Choose to buy only branded organic walnuts as they are safe.
- You can start your day with a few walnuts in your oats porridge.
- Or you can garnish your mid-morning yogurt with a few walnuts.
- You can add walnuts to any dish, any type of curries, sautéed veggies, salads, pulao and stuffed parathas.
- Walnuts can also be added to your desserts like kheer and fruit salads.
