Health
A few months back my kid developed a bunch of small reddish blisters around one corner of his mouth. When it blistered more and opened up. That’s when I realized he has cold sores. I took him to his pediatrician who gave him ibuprofen.
Lysine deficiency causes frequent cold sores and his Lysine level was only 100micro mol/L when it must be 120micro mol/L which is normal for kids. Lysine supplements were prescribed for him along with a lot of Lysine rich food. He particularly suggested adding Amaranth into the regular diet.
Amaranth is a complete plant protein and contains the highest amount of Lysine than all the other grains. It has enough Lysine to balance the amount that lacks in wheat. A sufficient amount of Lysine makes the bones strong and keeps warts and cold sores at bay. Cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex virus and having enough Amaranth helps in the production of Lysine that fights against this virus. Children require 44mg/kg on a daily basis which would be sufficient to fight the thriving of the Herpes Simplex virus.
With the prescribed medications, I also started adding Organic Amaranth to most of the meals for my son. I added it to his salads and to his morning porridge. I mixed a few tablespoons of amaranth to whole wheat atta and made rotis. Following this type of diet for a month showed amazing results. This also regulated the efficiency of the medications and the cold sores never appeared ever since. It really worked.
