I am sure, this definitely would have happened to you: You come back home after a tired day at office or out shopping, and whoa.. Something stinks. But, where is it coming from? You sniff, try hard to find it out, but you are clomped. Maybe, your home contains those things, which makes you smell downright yucky. Then, you are suddenly struck with an idea of spraying air freshener or lighting a candle. But, doing all these petty practices is just a minor or temporary solution. What you have to do is, reaching to the root of the problem and getting a permanent solution to get rid of this nuisance.

There are various methods but you have to choose the appropriate freshener.

5 natural ways to keep your house smelling fresh

A few days ago, I bought a new essential oil diffuser. Now, I use it regularly. As it is easy to fill and goes all day long, I have been using it for a while now. Now, when people visit my house, they always appreciate me and comment on how good it smells.

I got an idea of some other ways of keeping your house naturally fresh. So, after some research, I found 4 more to improve the aroma of the rooms. All of them are easy and affordable. Choose the freshener according to your need.

  • Diffuser

I like my diffuser very much. The process to use it is very simple. You just have to fill it with water and add a few drops of essential oil directly into its shell. After turning it on, it creates a mist which transports the perfume throughout the air in the house. It is one of the best fresheners

  • Essential oils

If you don’t have a diffuser, don’t worry, I have another solution for you. It is a prompt and a quiet easy one i.e. to improve the smell in your home with essential oils. What you have to do is, fill a small spray bottle with 4 droplets of water and 10-15 droplets of your favourite essential oil. Now, use it as a room spray.

  • Carpet fibre

Carpet fibre often traps the unwanted smell. Sprinkle the deodorizing carpet powder on carpets. Wait for a couple of minutes and vacuum as usual. The powder leaves behind a light, fresh scent.

  • Hanging air fresheners

Take some fabric. Add 20-30 drops of your favourite essential oil. The more you add, the stronger your fragrance will be.

  • Use of potted plants

Potted plants are not just for looks. They are also a very good source of natural air purifiers. Prominent among them are palm trees, orchids and peace lilies.

  • Some other techniques

Choose the best freshener of your choice.

Excluding the above methods, I have found some more:

Aroma candles - They hold a very prominent place in aromatherapy. They add a beautiful and ambience to a room.

Incense sticks- They are also known as aggarbatti. These are the most widely used form of air fresheners in our country.

Who doesn’t love a pleasant smell coming from a house? A good fragrance adds character and makes your space feel extra homey. It’s in your hands to choose the best freshener according to your need and preference. For more info visit Joy By Nature.
