With the growing trend of fast food and sweet delicacies like donuts and chocolates, tooth decay and cavities have become quite common these days. These problems majorly occur in kids, teenagers and elders. Dental problems arrive when the food we eat sticks to our teeth. Improper brushing allows these food particles to stay for long, thus resulting in decays. Well, these decays and cavities can be treated if you brush our teeth regularly.   1. Clove

Clove is known to possess anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Owing to these, it is a popular remedy for treating cavities and other dental woes. To use it, just dilute about three drops of clove oil with about one spoon of sesame oil. Dip a piece of cotton into this mixture and then dab it on the affected tooth. Do it daily before hitting the bed. You can also chew a clove to extract its oil. It helps in alleviating the pain.

  1. Salt

Salt is another great option to treat cavities. Possessing antiseptic properties, salt eases tooth ache, lessens inflammation and reduces growth of bacteria. To use it, mix a spoon of salt in a glass of lukewarm water. Just keep this liquid in your mouth for about one minute, concentrating on the area where the decayed tooth is located. Repeat it for about three times a day.

Alternately, you can mix a little mustard oil with half spoon of salt. Massage it on the affected teeth for immediate relief. Once done, gargle with lukewarm water. Do it at least twice a day till the pain persists.

  1. Oil therapy

This is quite an old therapy, which helps in curing cavities, swollen gums and other dental problems.  Oil flushes out bad bacteria from the mouth, thus easing pain and removing bad breath. Just take one tablespoon of sesame oil in your mouth and swish for about 15 minutes. Make sure you do not drink it.  Later, rinse your mouth with lukewarm water. Brush your teeth thereafter. Follow this routine daily on empty stomach. You can also use sunflower or coconut oil in place of sesame.

  1. Garlic

Besides being an excellent taste enhancer, garlic is used for treating several ailments as well. Owing to its anti-bacterial properties, this spice is recommended for curing dental problems. It helps in easing pain and promoting good gum health. All you need to do is take about four garlic cloves and crush them. Now add a little salt to it. Mix well and then apply on the affected area. Let it stay for about 10 minutes. Later, rinse with a mouthwash. Doing it at least twice a day will really help. Besides, you can also dab some garlic oil to treat your cavity. Also, try chewing one clove of garlic every day on empty stomach.

  1. Turmeric

It is no big news that turmeric is an antiseptic and therefore, aides healing. It provides instant respite from pain. It also keeps gums healthy and keeps bacteria at bay. Just apply some turmeric powder on the affected tooth and let it stay for some time. Rinse well after some time. You can also make a concoction by mixing half spoon of turmeric powder with a few drops of mustard oil. Apply this to your teeth. Allow it to stay for about 10 minutes and then, spit out. Do it often to keep dental ailments at bay.
