It might not sound entirely believable, but the foods you eat can make an impact on your sinus. Sinus infections are troublesome conditions that make it difficult for one to stay at any task for very long and moderate to serious conditions can even be painful.

Like garlic, there are many ways of incorporating it into your diet for its medicinal benefits. Ginger tea is a popular drink and you can even make some of your own. Boiling it in water is another option which is quick and effective. You can also make a paste out of it and apply a little under your nostrils for a particularly potent remedy.

All Chillies work as excellent remedies for a sinus infection. They clear a blocked nose and give you some brief relief from the throbbing pain of the infection. Some research has been carried out in this matter and the conclusions have been positive - chillies do ease sinus infections. It is the capsaicin in the chilly that gives it the spice and it is the capsaicin that makes your sinus infection more manageable. 

The application of chillies is simple: just add more to your diet. It might surprise you, but chillies are a special food where you lose weight when you eat them (They are a member of a group called thermogenic foods.) 

  1. Turmeric 

Turmeric, like garlic, is an anti-inflammatory agent. It’s a very common spice, with every Indian household possessing a container of turmeric, making it one of those remedies that is only an arm’s stretch away. 

  1. Fluids 

Sufficient intake of water is an essential part of the healing process. You can’t fight off the sinus infection if you’re dehydrated or are not drinking the amount of water you should be. Heating some water is a good idea, because the warm liquid helps with the condition. 

Nature, as always, provides us with many solutions to our problems, and the case is no different with a sinus infection. These foods are readily available and cheap, so it won’t be a problem getting a hand on them. They also offer many other benefits to the body, if you needed more reasons to consume them. However, if your sinus infection seems so severe to the point where it affects your daily functioning, you must consult a doctor. Serious cases of sinus infections require the attention of a trained medical professional.
