Your heart is the most powerful organ.
We all are aware of the importance that this organ has. It pumps blood all around the body without any pause. This makes it evident that we shouldn’t be implacable in taking its good care. Now, like any other organ the heart too can suffer from problems that can turn out to be fatal too. However, not all heart problems come with a clear warning sign.

- Cardiovascular disease:
This is caused by the blocked or stiffened blood vessels that prevent the blood flow to various parts of the body. The symptoms of these diseases vary amongst men and women. The common symptoms include:

- Shortness of breath
- Pain, numbness, weakness and coldness
- Pain in the neck, jaw, back, throat or upper abdominal area.
- Abnormal heartbeats:

These are the defects that we have from birth. The symptoms are visible from the time of birth. These could be:
- Cyanosis, this refers to pale or blue skin colour.
- Abnormal swelling in areas around the eye.
- Heart diseases caused by weak heart muscles:
These diseases are caused by the stiffness of the heart muscles. You must ensure that the following symptoms should not prolong for a long time:
- Fatigue
- Breathlessness
- Dizziness, fainting
- Irregularity in heart beating rate
- Heart infections:
There are three types of heart infections, namely pericarditis (when tissues surrounding the heart are affected), myocarditis (when muscular middle is affected), endocarditis (affects the inner membrane). Symptoms include:
- Fever
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue
- Dry cough
- Skin rashes
In case you notice any of these symptoms persisting for a prolonged time then you must consult a doctor. Take all possible steps to curb the heart diseases. As prevention is better than cure!

- Raisins:
Raisins protect against gum and heart disease.
- Whole grains:
eat plenty of whole grains to stay at a lower risk of heart disease.
- Fish:
Consuming two or more servings of fish per week is associated with 30 percent lower risk of developing coronary heart disease.
- Chocolates:
