Green tea also contains anti-inflammatory properties it also helps to reduce pain caused due to acute pericoronitis where a soft tissue overlaps a partially erupted wisdom tooth. To prepare your own minty green tea mouthwash, allow the used tea bags to steep in hot water for 10 to 15 minutes. Once the remaining extract from the tea bags is completely steeped, let the water cool down to room temperature. Add a few drops of tea tree oil to this and use it as a mouthwash twice a day to eliminate bad breath and fight oral bacteria.

  1. Under Eye Treatment

Tea bags are very useful when it comes to treating irritated or puffy eyes and dark circles. The antioxidant properties help to minimize the puffiness and swelling around the eyes and can help relieve the feeling of tiredness. Whenever you are feeling like your eyes could do with some rest, put two used tea bags in the refrigerator until they are chilled. Then lie down and place the cold tea bags on your eyes and let them sit for 15 minutes. Once you remove them, you will feel more refreshed and feel your eyes looking brighter and the area around the eyes to be soothed and glowing.

  1. Acne Treatment

Green tea is full of catechins that have antibacterial properties and can help fight off bacteria that cause pimples and acne. Many products such as face washes and lotions use green tea extracts for skin care purposes, however it is most effective to use it directly in the natural form. All you need to do is set aside a tea bag for 30 minutes after it has been used.  Then place this used tea bag on the affected area of the skin for approximately 10 minutes. Once you are finished, wash your face with cool water, pat dry and moisturize. If you follow this twice a day, you will soon see pimple and blemish free skin.

  1. Anti Ageing Treatment

The properties of green tea are very useful for a variety of skin treatments. The antioxidant properties improve skin complexion, reduce pore size and can also improve the elasticity making the skin look younger and preventing the signs of early ageing. Just open up 2 used tea bags and pour the contents out into a bowl. Add a spoonful of honey and squeeze the juice of 1 lemon into this. Mix it up well and apply the entire mixture on your face and neck and let it sit for about 10 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Apply this face pack twice or thrice a week to prevent premature ageing.

After a shave, it is quite common to feel some amount of razor burn. While it is normal, it can be quite irritating and painful. Tannins present in green tea act as an astringent and soothe such razor burns. It also acts as a mild anesthetic treatment which can reduce the irritation, itching sensation and pain. Similarly green tea soothes the sun burnt skin and protects it from the effects of UV radiation. Just soak about 10 to 15 used tea bags in bathwater and let your body soak in it. If you only want to treat a small area, you can use 1 or 2 used tea bags and pour the water continuously on the affected area for 15 to 20 minutes.
