A flawless, radiant skin is not a joke! However its not even rocket science, a healthy lifestyle and incorporating a healthy diet can delay the signs of aging.

Eating smaller meals which are rich in nutrients are very essential for a good skin. Choose from various food groups so that you get a balanced diet. Make sure you do your exercises at least thrice a week and always wear a sunscreen while stepping out in sun.

Let’s talk more about some super food that can help us fight aging.

Oats

Oats is a complex carbohydrate meal which have low glycemic index. Low glycemix means they do not speed up the blood sugar like other refined breads, pasta and rice. Food which contain high glycemic index may cause skin problems like premature wrinkle and acne. The natural plant chemical present in oats relaxes skin and protect from skin cell damage.

Oranges

Orange the juicy citrus fruits does wonder for your skin. They keep your skin cells well hydrated. Oranges are rich in Vitamin C which helps in collagen building. A skin which has good collagen content will keep skin soft and supple.

A good combination of veggies and fruits are ideal for your skin. Yo must ensure that everyday you should eat at leasts 2 to 2.5 cups of veggies and 1.5 cups of fruit. Pick up colourful fruits and veggies which in turn add nutrients to your diet.

Avocados

Go for avocados which have healthy fat, monounsaturated fat. It keeps your skin hydrated and also helps in absorption of other nutrients from other food groups. You can include avocados in your salads which will give the right texture and flavour along with good fats. Yo can also include organic olive oil in your diet.

Lean beef

Good quality Sirloin is a great lean beef. It adds high quality protein to your diet. Protein is responsible for collagen building which keeps our skin tight and radiant. However, lean beef should be taken in right proportion. 2 to 4 ounces twice a week is a good quantity. Do not charr your beef as it will lose its anti aging properties. You can also include other lean proteins like fish, tofu and chicken.

Brussel sprouts

Brussel sprounts are rich in Vitamin A and C. They also contain folate in good quantities. All these nutrients are skin friendly.

Vitamin C produces collagen whereas Vitamin A and folate are essential for skin to protect it from sun damage. Try roasting your brussel sprouts and flavour it with olive oil. You can include other veggies like collard greens, cauliflower and kale.

Salmon

Salmon is super rich in Omega 3 fats which have anti aging properties. Omega 3 fat also protects your skin from cancer and prevents the growth of cancerous cells. Two to three ounce serving per week is good enough for your skin and body. You can grill your fish and can have it with brown rice or whole grain bread. Try incorporating flax seeds and chia seeds in your diet.

Grapes

Grapes provide us with a compound called Resveratrol which have anti inflammatory properties. It also delays aging and protects our skin from harmful UV radiations.

Rooibos tea

Rooibos tea contain polyphenols that protects skin from premature aging. This miracle tea will keep your skin well hydrated.

Fermented foods

Fermented foods contain Probiotics which are good for our skin as it keeps our gut in a good condition. Always remember a healthy gut leads to a healthy skin. Go for kimchi, yoghurt and kefir.

Potassium rich foods

Potassium if incorporated well into your diet can remove dark circles and puffiness from under your eyes. At times water retention and excessive use of sodium rich food leads to dark circles. Include beans, nuts, fish, potatoes into your diet for potassium.
