WHOLE WHEAT DRY FRUIT LADDU
A healthy snack for adults and kids, these laddoos are a must have, especially in winter. The slight bitterness of methi seeds adds to its flavour while increasing the health benefits.
INGREDIENTS
- 250g whole wheat
- 100g fenugreek (methi) seeds.
- 50g dates – deseeded and finely chopped
- 50g almonds – finely chopped
- 25g walnuts – finely chopped
- 250g jaggery
- 1 tsp powdered cardamom (elaichi)
- 100g ghee.
METHOD
- Wash the wheat in water and dry on a cloth. Roast in a kadai till golden brown. On cooling, make a fine powder. Alternatively you can get the roasted wheat ground in a mill.
- Dry roast the methi seeds in a kadai. On cooling, make a fine powder.
- Add water to the jaggery and heat it to make single-string syrup.
- Add the powdered wheat, methi, dates, almonds, walnuts and cardamom to the jaggery syrup and mix.
- Warm the ghee to melt it and add it to the above mixture and mix well. Shape into laddu's.
Store it in Airtight container
NOTE
- If you dislike bitter taste, reduce the quantity to 50g
