Whole Wheat Dry Fruit Laddu

WHOLE WHEAT DRY FRUIT LADDU

A healthy snack for adults and kids, these laddoos are a must have, especially in winter. The slight bitterness of methi seeds adds to its flavour while increasing the health benefits.

INGREDIENTS

  1. 250g whole wheat
  2. 100g fenugreek (methi) seeds.
  3. 50g dates – deseeded and finely chopped
  4. 50g almonds – finely chopped
  5. 25g walnuts – finely chopped
  6. 250g jaggery
  7. 1 tsp powdered cardamom (elaichi)
  8. 100g ghee

METHOD

  1. Wash the wheat in water and dry on a cloth. Roast in a kadai till golden brown. On cooling, make a fine powder. Alternatively you can get the roasted wheat ground in a mill.
  2. Dry roast the methi seeds in a kadai. On cooling, make a fine powder.
  3. Add water to the jaggery and heat it to make single-string syrup.
  4. Add the powdered wheat, methi, dates, almonds, walnuts and cardamom to the jaggery syrup and mix.
  5. Warm the ghee to melt it and add it to the above mixture and mix well. Shape into laddu's.

    Store it in Airtight container

 

NOTE

  • If you dislike bitter taste, reduce the quantity to 50g
