  ENERGY BARS

This protein bar helps muscle recovery, to be eaten, after workout. Brazil Nuts and Almonds are an excellent source of Vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B-6 and folates. Energy bars help you to regain energy levels post strenuous exercise routine and for some people it may also help to lose weight.

INGREDIENTS

  • Brown sugar powder – 1 cup
  • Unsweetened coco powder – 4 tbs (or Cadbury Hot chocolate – 2 tbs)
  • Skim Milk – ½ cup.
  • Protein Powder - 4 tbs (or Protinex powder – 2 tbs)
  • Peanut Butter – 2 tsp.
  • Brazil Nuts – 10 to 15 chopped
  • Almonds – 6  to 8 chopped
  • Banana - 1
  • Cooking Oats – 4 tbs.

METHOD

In a pan add sugar, cocoa, skim milk, protein powder & stir continuously until the mixture starts to bubble. To that add peanut butter, mashed banana, nuts and finally oats. Mix all the ingredients. On a plate, take a cling wrap/plastic sheet and spread the mixture to make bars. Allow it to cool and set for 30 minutes. Cut & store them in refrigerator. 

SUBSTITUTE

  • Instead of unsweetened coco powder, you can use Cadbury Hot chocolate.
  • If you do not have Protein Powder, use Protinex in reduced quantity.
  • If you like add raisins for the sweet taste.
  • Instead of bars you can make these in round balls (ladoo style).
