Clean and healthy looking feet are any day more attractive than feet with sores and cracks. In today’s age when being health conscious has become a style statement, you cannot be far behind in devoting at least an hour in your work out shoes every day. However, while you sweat it out in those pumps make sure you are not killing your feet! Here are some ways you can enjoy feet fitness.

Shoes, shoes and shoes

Running the treadmill or the sidewalk in loafers is going to hurt your feet! So, it is very important that you invest in a good pair of them if you intend to spend a good amount of time working out. A good pair of shoes will ensure that your feet have the right kind of protection and support they need to labour for hours in a week. Besides, nothing says cool like a sweet pair of sports shoes.

Socks, socks and socks

Nylon and silk make for really fancy socks material but avoid these at all costs when you are working out. These fabrics have a tendency to retain moisture in them. This means they won’t absorb the sweat while you work out. If this continues for more than a few weeks, you can soon expect a visit from Sir Athlete’s foot. Always opt for cotton or woollen socks as they absorb the sweat and keep your feet dry.

Corns and sores

If you do not wear appropriate footwear when you work out, you can sometimes cause one area of your skin to get repeatedly rubbed. This kind of hyperstimulation often leads of corns and sores. You can try treating corns by wearing it down on a pumice stone gradually and sores by applying a disinfectant, but if things are not looking up even at the end of a few weeks, do not forget to visit a dermatologist. Treat your feet before they develop into infections.

Fungal attacks

Ugh. Imagine patches of fungus growing on your skin. Could things BE more disgusting? We think not. Improper foot care prior to and after work out sessions can cause sweat to accumulate in between your toes and make it a very desirable place for the growth of fungi. A simple precaution is to keep the area dry by making sure you dust your feet with some powder before you put on the workout shoes. Also remember to wash your feet well after working out.

Winter care

Winters can be brutal on sensitive feet. The extreme cold causes dryness on the skin and cracks on the sole of your feet. This can be very unattractive to look at. Also, cracks can often provide an easy way for infections to spread in your feet. The simplest remedy for this is extensive moisturising. Make sure your scrub off the dead skin from your feet and then apply a healthy amount of moisturising lotion on your feet.

Feet are a subtle, yet an integral aspect of your appearance. Healthy feet are always attractive so make sure you take good care of your own. Drop by Joy by nature and check out the multitude of organic products they have!
