Low blood pressure, medically referred to as hypotension, is an ailment in which the pressure of the blood slows down. In low blood pressure, the flow of blood in the body becomes slow and does not reach properly to the brain, heart and kidneys.Low blood pressure can be caused due to a variety of reasons, such as dehydration, nutritional deficiencies, prolonged bed rest, decrease in blood volume, heart ailments, pregnancy, neurological conditions and endocrine disorders. Certain types of medication like alpha blockers, beta blockers, antidepressants and diuretics can also lead to low blood pressure.In case of low blood pressure, a person should increase his salt and fluid intake. Also, alcoholic beverages and high-carbohydrate foods should be avoided.Besides, there are a few home-based treatments too that can help alleviating the symptoms of low blood pressure. A mixture of almond and milk is a great remedy to regulate blood pressure. All you need to do is soak around six almonds in a cup of water for the entire night. Strain them the next morning and then peel off their skin. Afterwards, grind them to get a fine paste. Now boil this paste with a cup of milk and then drink it in the morning. Do it daily to keep your blood pressure under check.
- Rosemary
Rosemary is an aromatic herb, which is really helpful in normalizing low blood pressure. This is because it stimulates the central nervous system and thus improves blood circulation in the body. All you need to do is consume 10 ml of rosemary tincture each day. Besides, you can also consume a freshly prepared rosemary infusion or use this herb in your regular cooking. Also, adding rosemary oil in your diffuser provides aromatherapy benefits.
- Carrot Juice
Carrots are also helpful in regulating low blood pressure. Just consume a glass of fresh carrot juice in your breakfast daily. You can also stir in a teaspoon of honey in it to enhance its flavor. Consume this juice preferably two times in a day. While having it in the morning, consume on an empty stomach.
- Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is quite effective in curing high blood pressure. However, it is helpful in regulating low blood pressure too, particularly caused due to dehydration. Whenever you suffer from low blood pressure, drink a glass of water mixed with some lemon juice, a pinch of salt and a sugar. This lemon based drink provides energy to the body by stimulating the function of the liver and aiding digestion. Drinking a glass of sugarcane juice mixed with a teaspoon of lemon juice and a pinch of salt is also helpful for keeping blood pressure under check.
- Raisins
Raisins are considered to be an age-old Ayurvedic remedy helpful in treating symptoms related to low blood pressure.Just take around 40 raisins in one cup of water and let them steep in it for the entire night. Consume these raisins the next morning, particularly on an empty stomach. Besides, you can also drink the water in which the raisins were soaked for the entire night. Follow any of these remedies for a few weeks going up to a month too. Try another remedy by taking 10 to 15 almonds and 15 to 20 peanuts. Crush these nuts together and then, consume them with a glass of lukewarm milk. Follow this remedy for about a month to keep blood pressure under check.
