Andrew Collinge says about hair care-

“One of the keys to giving your hair shine is preparing it well, such as giving it a final rinse with cold water after shampooing. When drying your hair, I'd recommend using a long round brush with short bristles so your hair glides smoothly over the brush. The end result should be gleaming smooth hair that will reflect light beautifully.”

Do you know hair can get damaged easily, but it takes somewhat longer time to repair it? Sun burns, dyeing, bleaching, straightening, perming, and heat stress from curling irons and blow dryers can damage your hair over time. Each and every hair has three layers – the inner fiber called the medulla, the mid layer called that surrounds the medulla and the outer layer called the cuticle that protects the hair from brittle.

Home Remedies for rough & damaged hair

Apple cider vinegar- Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a well-known folk remedy to treat many health conditions. Keep your hair pack for about a half hour using plastic wrap or a cover cap, then shampoo and rinse. Using apple cider vinegar is one of the best home remedy to treat damaged hair.

Olive oil- Olive oil is very good for damaged hair. Food with fatty acids, many antioxidants and vitamin E, olive oil heals the damaged layers by sealing with moisture. It also protects the hair from further damage.  Put the moisture back into dry hair by heating up 1/2 cup olive oil (do not boil it), and then rubbing it on your hair. Cover tresses with a plastic bag, and then wrap everything in a towel. Let this home remedy do its thing for forty five minutes, then shampoo and completely rinse.

Rinse with tea- You can think of tea as a sore throat remedy, but you can also treat it to give hair a natural shine. Use a warm, sugar free tea as a final rinse after your regular shampoo.

Hair Washing- Washing your hair on gaping days is very beneficial. While doing so, do not gather the shampoo on top of the hair. This can damage your hair.  Hot water may damage hair, so wash your hair with lukewarm or child water, and finish the shampoo process with cool water. Cool or cold water may help damaged hair by closing the hair cuticle and causing the hair lie flat, resulting in shinier, smoother hair. Use an organic shampoo and wash your hair no more than twice a week. Frequently washing may damage your hair.

Aloe Vera- Aloe Vera is best for repairing damaged hair. Its humectants properties may soothe the hair shaft. It has enzymes, amino acids, and vitamins C and E properties that are good for your hair. Alternatively, mix 4 tablespoons of aloe Vera gel, two tablespoons of yogurt and three tablespoons. Aloe Vera is one of the best home remedy to treat damaged hair.
