Our lenient attitude, lack of attention towards our feet, lack of moisture (as there are no oil glands on feet) and over exposure to pollution/dirt are some of the reasons for dry and cracked heels. Some diseases such as thyroid, diabetes, eczema and psoriasis may also lead to dryness and cracks in foot skin. These sore and bleeding cracks can lead to serious infections and make walk so painful.

Walking barefoot can be considered the biggest risk factor for cracked heels. So it is recommended to cover your feet with socks especially in winters. Cracked heels can also be diagnosed by some natural and organic foot care products. If you are worried and sick of these painful heels so you need not to be worried from now onwards, as below mentioned are some natural and home care remedies to heal your heels naturally-

Diagnose your heels naturally

Home care and natural remedies are safe and easy to use. There are various ways to heal your heels at home. Here are 5 easy ways to get rid of painful heels-

  • Honey- Honey is a natural antiseptic and includes so many soothing properties that help to revive skin naturally.

 

  • 1 cup honey
  •  Warm water

 

  • Mix one cup of honey to half a bucket of warm water.
  • Soak your feet for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Scrub off gently to obtain soft and smooth feet.

Honey can be used daily to get rid of cracked heels.

 

  • Vegetable Oil- Natural vegetable oil nourishes our skin and recovers cracks in the heels naturally. What we need is;

 

2 teaspoon vegetable oil

  • Wash your feet and dry them using a clean towel. Apply a layer of vegetable oil on your feet covering cracked areas.
  • Leave it on overnight wearing a pair of socks.
  • Wash your feet in the morning.

 

 

One can use this method once in a day before going to bed.

 

  • Banana and avocado- Banana moisturizes our skin and avocado is rich in several essential oils and vitamins that nourish skin naturally. These traits really help to heal your heels beautifully. What we need are;

 

  •     1 ripe banana
  •      ½ avocado

 

  • Blend one ripe banana and half avocado and get a creamy paste.
  • Apply this paste on your cracked heels and feet.
  • Keep it for 20 to 25 minutes and wash it with lukewarm water.

 Repeat it daily till you get smooth feet.

 

  • Lemon, salt, glycerin and rose water- All these natural products are easily available at home and can get you an effective result. How these natural products can perform wonders let’s see;

 

  •  Warm water
  • 1 tablespoon raw salt
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons glycerin
  • 2 teaspoons rosewater
  • Pumice stone/foot scrubber

 

  • Take warm water in a basin; add raw salt, few drops of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of glycerin, and one teaspoon of rosewater. Soak your feet for about 15-20 minutes in this water.
  • Scrub your heels and feet using pumice stone.
  • Mix 1 teaspoon of rosewater, 1 teaspoon of glycerin, 1 one teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply the mixture on your cracked heels. Since the texture of this mixture will be sticky so you need wear a pair of socks and leave it for overnight.
  • Wash off with lukewarm water in the morning.

 

 

Repeat this for few days till your heels get recovered properly.

 

 

  • Natural Olive oil- Olive oil is known as a healer and has nourishing properties that make skin soft and supple. It is one of the natural ways to get smooth, soft, and healthy heels.

            1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Massage on your feet and heels with some olive oil in circular motion.
  • Wear a pair of cotton socks and leave it for 20 to 25 minutes.
