Did you ever have one of such days when you woke up and had that little red lump on your nose, under your nose, forehead, armpits, thighs, between legs, back, or any body part for that matter? Don’t you just hate it and want it gone as soon as you notice it? Absolutely yes! Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do about it. Actually, you can, but it’s going to last for a while.
This red little painful lump is called a boil and exists under the skin. It may or may not have pus inside it, depending on the level of infection. It grows when there is anexcess of heat in your body – maybe because of being too much of Sun or maybe because of certain kinds of foods.
Reasons
- Poor hygiene
- Poor immune system
- Alcoholism
- Diabetes
- Poor nutrition
How To Treat Boils?
- The worst advice ever given to me in a situation like this is to squeeze it and be done with it. Trust me, never try that. Ever. Not only will it leave marks on your skin, but there are chances that the infection may increase. So, do not squeeze, scratch, drain or open the boil.
- Gently wash the affected area with soap and water twice a day and dry it well. Try not rubbing the towel; just pat it against your skin to avoid opening it.
- Put awarm and wet cloth over it for 20 to 30 minutes, 3 – 4 times a day. It won’t dry it in thejust one-day effort. It might take 5 to 7 days for it heal or maybe more than that. Just be patient and avoid touching it as much as possible.
- Turmeric
It is a natural blood purifier and has inflammatory properties. Drink it with a glass of milk as a remedy or apply a paste of it with fresh ginger directly on the boil.
- Cumin Seeds
Grind some cumin seeds mix them with water, make a paste and apply it on the boil to see effective results.
- Neem
Neem is anti-bacterial and anti-microbial. It will heal the boil in an herbal way. Apply it on your skin or take it in as juice or anyway that you prefer.
Preventive Measures
- Wash your hands to stop bacteria from entering your body.
- Practice hygiene.
- Avoid fat and sugar rich foods.
- Caffeine must be avoided in this condition as it can worsen the situation.
- Include Vitamin A, C and E rich foods in your diet.
