Maple syrup is a natural sweetener which is highly versatile. It can be added to almost any type of food. It is rich in manganese, zinc, calcium, potassium and riboflavin. They taste fantastic when added to dishes of meat, poultry, vegetables and seafood. They can also be added to beverages like coffee and tea. It should be the preferred sweetener for those in a weight loss program. It is also highly beneficial addition to a regular diet because of its nutritional value.

Energy drink

It is an easy way to consume maple with a delicious taste. It is good for those with regular workout schedule. The fact that it is natural and contains no artificially added flavors makes it authentic. The potassium and sodium content of maple syrup can easily facilitate the re-hydration process during workout sessions. To prepare an energy drink with maple syrup, mix about three cups of chilled water with a quarter cup each of pure maple syrup and orange juice. Add two tablespoon of lime juice and just enough sugar before mixing the ingredients into a delicious drink.

Granola

Granola is a very popular nuts-based food product for breakfast and snack recipes. Natural sweetener like maple syrup can be used with it to make it taste even better. To prepare granola, put about twelve cups of non-instant oats with one cup each of almond slivers and pecan pieces. Add about three cups of maple syrup along with four tea spoons of pure vanilla extract and two cups of dry fruits mixture. Raisins, cherries, strawberries and blueberries are some of the dry fruits that can be used. Mix the ingredients well to finish preparing a crunchy mixture of maple granola.

Muffins with maple and dates

Workout sessions will require you to have a good supply of carbohydrates and complete cut off any fat based food. For that reason, muffins are the way to go. To prepare a muffin, allow a mixture of yogurt and oat bran to settle. Mix up a three-fourth cup of bran flakes, all-purpose flour, dates, wheat flour, cinnamon and baking soda. Whisk together a mixture of maple syrup, water, egg and oil before adding them to the oat bran-yogurt mixture. Stir the mixture thoroughly and put them inside muffin liners. Bake them for up to 20 minutes to finish preparing the muffins.
