Exercises and Massages

There are alot of exercises which you can do to get rid of neck stiff. They include neck exercises and yoga. While you are relaxing don’t bend your head, you just have to keep it straight. Nodding your head forward and backward is the most commonly followed exercise for a stiff neck.

Do some aerobic exercises which include movement of the neck. Without shaking your head try to turn your neck left to right and then right to left. Follow this pattern for some time daily and you will be contented with the results. Always do some shoulder rolls after you finish all the exercises. And if you have time, practise yoga for some minutes as it will help us in curing stiff neck to some extent. Doctors always suggest taking abath in very hot water as it will relax our muscles. Apply the oil which is slightly warmed olive, mustard and coconut oil to the neck. Then gently massage on that place. Swimming is also preferred if you have a stiff neck.

Epsom Salt (Hydrotherapy)

Epsom salt also helps in treating stiff neck as it contains the compound magnesium sulphate. For this, you just have to buy Epsom salt and add 2 cups of Epsom salt to a bathtub and allow it to submerge for 10 – 15 minutes. And then merge your head in that tub for some time. If you follow this remedy for at least 3 times a week, you will be satisfied to see change with your stiff neck.

Analgesia can be prepared by adding 2 spoons of coconut oil is a tablespoon of beeswax. Then after pouring it into a pot, heat this over medium heat. Then add 5 drops of eucalyptus oil and peppermint oil. Pour that in a contained after it had cooled and apply this solution for the neck. This is a man-made remedy which can be followed easily to get quick results as it will sooth your muscles and skin. In addition to it, you may wrap iron some ice cubes in a towel and hold them at the stiff area for about 15 minutes. You have to repeat this thing for every 2 hours for 2 days. Or you can follow heat therapy if you didn’t get relief. Hold a hot water bottle or hot towel against the stiff neck for 10 minutes. Repeat this for 2-3 times a day to get better results.
