After spending a delightful summer soaking in the sun and lazing on the beach, you come back to your daily grind and realise you have tanned all over your body. While a tan is a great thing to lend some colour to the skin, getting an uneven tan is not something that anyone desires.

While bleaching and salon therapies are a few options you have, they involve synthetic treatments and chemical peels which can greatly damage your skin. To keep it simple, affordable and avoid skin problems, try out some of these simple home remedies to easily remove your tan and make your skin look even more beautiful in the process.

  1. Masoor Dal

Red lentils or masoor dal is commonly used in our daily diet. But little do people know that it is useful to get rid of a sun tan also, however extreme it may be. Tomatoes are another ingredient with bleaching properties which remove the darkened skin layers and rejuvenate it.

To prepare, make a paste of raw tomatoes and soak masoor dal in water for 15 minutes. Grind the soaked dal to a paste and then add the tomato pulp and mix it well. Apply this mix all over your face and neck and wash it off after 15 minutes. Do this twice a week and your skin will start returning to its normal shade in no time. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice to enhance the skin lightening effect.

  1. Ubton

Ubton is a powder or paste based formula made using natural and beautifying elements such as multani mitti, sandalwood etc. it evens out the skin tone and adds a natural glow to the face. It is commonly used during Diwali to enhance features, but it can be used at other times to remove sun tan from skin as well. It removes the dead and dry skin cells and treats the dryness of the skin. It boosts the blood flow which in turn encourages cellular regeneration.

When applied, the ubton dries on the skin after a few minutes. This causes the pores to tighten making the skin look taut and avoids sagging. It also has lightening properties which enhances development of natural skin cells and removes the darkened skin. Mix the ubton with water or milk cream and apply it all over your face and body. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash it off. You can find more details about ubton here

  1. Besan And Turmeric

Besan and turmeric have cleansing, lightening and exfoliating properties and when mixed together they can do wonders to improve the skin and remove extreme tan. Turmeric has anti inflammatory properties and helps to add a glow to the skin, reduce pigmentation and also gives a natural pinkish appearance. Mix a spoonful of turmeric in a bowl of besan (gram flour) and add 2 to 3 spoonfuls of milk to the mix. You can also add a few drops of rose water.

Clean your skin thoroughly and apply this mixture on dry skin. Use a brush to apply it on your face so that it spreads evenly and coats the skin well. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes or until it is completely dry. While washing it off rub your skin in an anti clockwise direction as this helps to exfoliate and heal. Apply this pack twice a week to see amazing results. You can find more information about turmeric and its benefits here
