Shampoo and conditioner go hand in hand and as far as you can remember the two have always sat together on your bathroom shelf. For all these years you follow the same standard routine of shampooing, applying your conditioner, and then rinsing it off in a few minutes after you danced or sang in the shower. But what if we told you that there are many other ways your hair can benefit from Organic Conditioner besides the traditional use. Take a look at some of the excellent methods to use conditioner to reveal silky and lustrous hair.

  1. Pro Conditioning

To apply conditioner and see the results like you do after a trip to the salon, start by squeezing out all the water from your hair after rinsing out shampoo. If you add a thin layer of conditioner to dripping wet hair, it will barely seep into the hair shaft as the water will dilute it. If you wring out your hair so that the water is removed and then apply the conditioner, it will properly coat the entire strand and give you best results. Once you have spread the conditioner all over your hair (leave out the crown and scalp), take a wide toothed comb and brush it through the length of your hair. This will allow the conditioner to spread evenly and ensure that each hair strand is properly coated. Leave it on for a few minutes and rinse off as usual.

  1. Deep Conditioning Mask

Normally you would apply conditioner and wash it off in just a few minutes. To use it as a deep conditioning mask, you need to do something a little bit different. Shampoo your hair as normal, and then give it a cold rinse; the cooler the water the better. Once all the shampoo is washed out, squeeze all the water out of your hair. Take a generous amount of conditioner and spread it all over your hair. Detangle hair between your fingers and once the conditioner is evenly applied, wrap your hair up in a warm towel. Dip the towel in a bucketful of hot water and then wring it out so that all the water drips out. This will warm up the towel to use on your head. This steam from the towel will open up your hair shaft and allow the conditioner to deeply nourish it. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse it out as usual. Doing this about once a month acts as a wonderful deep conditioning therapy that will leave your hair softer than ever.

  1. Homemade Hair Packs

Who said conditioner can be used only after a shampoo. You can even prepare your own hair masks using your favourite conditioner. Make a mixture by combining two egg whites, a spoonful of honey and a dollop of conditioner. Wet your hair and apply this mixture all over your hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes then wash it off with shampoo. Another hair mask you can prepare is by mixing conditioner with onion juice and a spoonful of plain yogurt. Add a small amount of olive oil and mix it well. Apply this as previously mentioned and wash it off after 20 to 30 minutes. The possibilities are endless where you can enhance the quality of your hair masks by adding just a small dollop of conditioner.

  1. Solid Conditioner

One of the handiest tips of using conditioners is to pack a cube of solidified conditioner in your bag. Each time you notice stray hair and flyaways just rub the cube over the eager hair strands and they will look instantly tame. You can use this tactic to combat static, frizzy hair, flyaways and even if you put your hair in a sophisticated updo and need it to look sleek and shiny.

Who thought conditioner could be such a convenient little product – multiple solutions packed into one neat bottle. Just remember never to apply conditioner on your scalp as it can weigh down the roots and make hair look limp. So get started with your version of the conditioner therapies and you will instantly be able to feel a noticeable difference in your hair.
