Dandruff can in fact cause a lot of embarrassment for the person suffering from the problems. Dandruff can be caused because of a variety of reasons. One major reason for dandruff is lack of enough combing and brushing. When people comb or brush their hair, they are in fact shedding the skin. If enough of combing and brushing is not done, the skin may not be shed properly and thus erupts as white flakes referred to as dandruff.

Dry skin is another common reason for dandruff to appear. Oily skin also contributes to dandruff.
