Your nails tell a lot about you. Strong and healthy nails serve as the perfect representative of the overall health and wellness of a person. There are people who really care for their nails, while others couldn’t care less. No matter how wonderful dress you are wearing, if your nails are not done, then your whole appearance looks incomplete. Fortunately, you do not need a lot of time and money to maintain healthy nails.

  • Keep your nails clean. Regular hand washing is great for keeping the surface of your nails clean, but they will need some extra attention to get them clean and white underneath. Your nails are not going to grow if they are dirty and unhygienic. This helps in averting building up of fungi, bacteria and other germs under your fingernails.

  • File your nails. File your nails once or twice a week. Only file in one direction. Trim and file your nails when they are soft, after bathing. Use for this purpose a sharp manicure clipper or scissor. First trim your nails straight across, then round the tips in mild curves. If you’ve ever had long nails, then you’ve almost certainly suffered from a broken nail at some point. Rough nail files do more harm than good to finger nails , and should be replaced with very fine nail files.

  • Soak your nails. Soak your nails for about 10 minutes in a bowl of oil (preferably olive oil) and salt. Who would have given a thought that warm water can actually work for your nails. Dab your nails in warm water, and see the wonder. Submerging of your nails for long periods into water and exposure of your nails for long periods to any kind of detergent while soaking your hands leads to weakening of your nails and cuticles.

  • Moisturize your hand- While using hand lotion; apply the lotion onto your nails and cuticles also. After using cream slip a pair of thin gloves to cover your nails before you goes to bed. You can use fish oil on your nails; it is a wonderful way to treat nails at home , especially in winters.

  • Hand Cream: While your fingernails themselves may not need moisture, your fingertips and cuticles absolutely do. After dish washing rub gently hands cream on to your hands, nails and particularly cuticle area. Always use organic hand cream  it makes your nail smooth and soft.

  • Tea Tree oil- Tea tree oil is very useful for nail treatment; it makes it smooth and healthy. In fact, in one study it proved to be as effective as a prescription antifungal medicine. Always use organic tea tree oil for nail treatment which 100% pure, don’t use mix contain of tea tree oil.

  • Don’t use fake nails- Artificial nail destroys beauty of original nail. For women who have problems with weak, soft, brittle nails, artificial nails can seem like a godsend. So avoid fake nails, fake nails make unhealthy to your nail.
