The heels like any other part of our body are made of same skin cells and they endure the most amount of force as we stand, jump, run and do god knows how many types of actives with it. The skin contracts and expands numerous times and needs extra care to stay clean. Excessive weight or overactivity without proper care leads to cracked heels. It’s better to be safe than sorry, so use foot care products like scrubs and lotions to keep your feet healthy and pain-free. There are many remedies for cracked feet healing and doing them right using the right product keeps them soft and clean.

Ways to heal cracked heels

There are numerous ways through which you can get rid of those hard and rough heels. Here are few tips on how:

  1. Use lotion

Using lotion is the easiest thing you can do to protect your feet. Wash and clean your feet with water and soap and apply every night before sleeping or after your bath. Lotion needs some time to soak in so it’s advisable to give it some time before hopping on it. Choose a lotion that has universal healers like Aloe Vera and coconut oil and minerals like vitamin e.

  1. Use scrub pads

Lotion, oil and cream is mostly for prevention, but what to do if you wish to get rid of the dead cells after it has already occurred? Well, use a scrub pad or a scrub stone to grind of all the dead cells. But be sure you have healed the crack wounds if you have any before doing this else it might hurt. Put your feet in warm water to soften it and then scrub and scrub till it’s gone.

  1. Use scrub paste

If your crack is not that bad it’s better to use scrub wash or pastes to hand scrub the dead cells. Wash your feet with warm water, let it soak and then apply scrub and hand grind the cracked heels.

  1. Use oil

Are the cracks starting to show up? And you don’t want it to grow? Apply natural oils rich in vitamin e like almond oil, coconut oil, Aloe Vera extracts etc. Oils retain moisture in your skin and prevents it from drying out to reveal cracks.

The point of importance in all this is that foot care is not something you should neglect. Take care of your feet if you want them to take care of you. Click here for more products on foot care.
