It was in May 2005 when Kylie Minogue, the Australian songstress who is dubbed as ‘the princess of pop’ went through her own ordeal of finding out about breast cancer. It was a shocking truth that she discovered when she prepared for the Showgirl Tour. On getting herself checked by the doctors who misdiagnosed her and gave her all-clear for breast cancer was one hell of a battle. She went on for second opinion only to discover weeks later that she is suffering from breast cancer. This sure came as a surprising shock to her and her loved ones who never thought that she would be diagnosed with a lump in her breast that is cancerous. 

“Listen, this is an opportunity for me to say something that I have not said before. I was misdiagnosed initially,” she said.

“So my message to all of you and everyone at home is, because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn’t necessarily mean they are right.

“If you have any doubt, go back again,” and said she had heard stories from other women who had also been wrongly told they were free of the disease.

She confessed of her misdiagnosis on Ellen DeGeneres Show in the US. Voicing her opinion, she urged young women to get a second opinion and go for second diagnosis to be sure about their condition. Just as in her case her intuition related to her disease saved her life, it is essential to listen to your instinct.

The singer waited no longer than required and immediately went in for lumpectomy to get a clear picture of the disease. Later on after the diagnoses, she underwent surgery followed by chemotherapy.


Lifestyle Changes

Kylie knew that she should take substantial steps into changing her lifestyle that most importantly included dietary changes. Her routine underwent a drastic makeover wherein she included healthy eating that would help her develop immunity and strength required to cope with the given situation. 


Diet plan

Lightly cooked vegetables are included in her daily meal. Her preference is Chinese style stir-fry that makes an excellent vegetable dish. The flavors are preserved along with the nutritive value of the food without compromising on taste. This includes spices and sauces to keep away from getting it bland in taste.


Another thing that she insists upon are Smoothies, according to her it is the best way to consume fresh fruits. Each smoothie contains up to 3 portions of fruit that has high nutritive value and is fulfilling at the same time.


Her breakfast routine includes healthy fats. Her favorites include eggs, Greek yogurt and skim milk. Additionally she likes to regularly munch on her oatmeal, which is one of her favorite.
