Back ache might have several reasons behind it. Some of them include a sprain, lifting weight, excess body weight, pregnancy and many more. Seeing a doctor is important as back aches are generally very painful. And if ignored, can lead to severe medical conditions. However, there are several natural remedies to treat back ache too. Let us get to know about a few of them. All the more, natural treatments not only provide instant relief but also prevent it from happening any further.

  1. Poppy Seeds

Poppy seeds are a great remedy for back ache. All you need to do is grind about 100 gms each of poppy seeds and misri together. Now consume around two teaspoons of this mixture with a glass of lukewarm milk. Take it at least two times in a day for immediate relief.

Poppy seeds are also used to thicken gravies and also provide warmth in winter.

  1. Ginger

The root of ginger is also a great remedy for curing back ache. Moreover, it is also helpful in treating vomiting and the feeling of nausea. This is due to the presence of anti-inflammatory properties, which act upon the pain and thus provide relief.

All you need to do is apply some ginger paste on your back. Once it dries up, wipe off and then apply eucalyptus oil.

Alternately, add some ginger slices in a pot of boiling water. Let it simmer for five minutes and then, turn off the flame. Let it come down to room temperature and then strain it. Add some honey and then, drink this ginger tea regularly. Consume it at least two times in a day.

Making an herbal tea is also a good option. For this, you need to boil ingredients like black pepper corns, cloves and ginger powder in the similar manner mentioned above.

  1. Basil Leaves

Basil leaves can also be used for curing back ache. Just boil a few basil leaves in one cup of water till half of the liquid evaporates. Let the decoction cool down and then, add a pinch of salt to it. Stir well and drink it. If you have mild pain, drink it once in a day but in case of severe ache; make it two times a day.

Basil leaves is a popular ingredient in Italian recipes like Pasta, risotto and some coolers too.

  1. Herbal Oil

Massage your back with an herbal oil. It will surely relax your muscles and thus provide relief from the pain. You can use a variety of herbal oils like eucalyptus, olive, almond and coconut. Before applying it on your back, heat it to lukewarm temperature and then massage gently.

  1. Garlic

Garlic is another option for getting some relief from severe back ache. All you need to do is chew a few cloves of garlic every day on empty stomach. Besides, massaging garlic oil on the back can also help in relieving pain.

To prepare garlic based oil, heat some coconut oil, sesame or mustard oil with around 10 rushed cloves of garlic. Let the garlic turn golden brown and then, turn off the flame. Let the oil come down to room temperature and then, strain it. Now apply this oil on your back.

Massage your back gently with the oil. Later, take a warm water bath.

  1. Epsom Salt

To use Epsom salt for back ache relief, all you need to do is make a thick paste by mixing this salt with hot water. Now soak a hand towel in this paste and squeeze it to drain out excess water. Spread the towel on your back or on the area which is paining. The heat will transfer from the towel to your body and will therefore provide relief from the pain and swelling.

Also, add two cups of Epsom salt to your bath water and let it soak from about half an hour. Later take a bath from it.
