Poor care of private parts can lead to several types of infections, especially in the vagina. Such infections can cause inflammation, itching, redness, rashes and much more. One should always see a doctor if such symptoms persist. Besides, there are several home remedies, which can easily cure and prevent vaginal infections. Let us take a look at a few of them.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Owing to its acidic property, apple cider vinegar helps in regulating the pH balance of vagina. A proper pH level ensures a healthy balance between good and bad bacteria. It further controls yeast and bacterial infection.

To use it, take two tablespoons of unfiltered apple cider vinegar and add it to a glass of lukewarm water. Use this liquid to wash your private area. Do it twice a day to get rid of any infection.

Alternately, take two tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar and a little honey and add them to a glass of warm water. Drink this concoction twice in a day.

  1. Garlic

The anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties found in garlic can treat the problem of vaginitis. It is so because it acts on both bacterial and yeast infections, which lead to vaginitis. Moreover, garlic is helpful in boosting immunity against any bodily infection.

To use it, add five drops of garlic oil in half teaspoon each of coconut and vitamin E oils. Mix well and then, apply on the infected area twice in a day.

Chewing a few cloves of garlic every day can also help in fighting infections. Garlic supplements are also available in the market. However, do consult a doctor before consuming them.

  1. Chamomile

Another great remedy for treating vaginal inflammation is chamomile. Its soothing and relaxing properties help reduce swelling and pain. It also acts on itching and burning sensation.

Put a chamomile tea bag in a cup of hot water and let it stay for about 10 minutes. Later, remove the bag and keep it in the refrigerator for a few minutes. Now try and place this cool tea bag inside the vagina. Try and squeeze it so that the liquid goes inside. This remedy will reduce the inflammation happening inside. Do it at least two times in a day for quick healing.

  1. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is known for curing several types of infections, one of them being vaginal itching and inflammation. This is due to the presence of anti-bacterial and anti-fungal compounds, which can combat infection-causing bacteria. Further, it helps in getting rid of vaginal odor.

All you need to do is add five drops of tree tea oil in a bowl of lukewarm water. Stir well and then rinse your vital organ with this liquid. Use this solution once in a day. However, pregnant ladies should stay away from remedies.

  1. Curd

Probiotic curd consists of active cultures, which is one of the best remedies for vaginal infections. As per studies, curd contains good bacteria called lactobacilli, which helps in destroying the bad ones.

Curd further helps in maintaining a healthy pH balance. To use it, dip a tampon in fresh curd and then put it in your vagina for a few hours. Do it once in a day till the infection gets cured completely.

  1. Cold Compress

Using a cold compress can help in treating inflammation in the vagina. Basically, the cold temperature makes the area numb, thus providing relief from severe pain, itching and other irritations.

All you need to do is wrap a few ice cubes in a clean piece of cloth and tie a knot so that the cubes do not come out. Now place this cold compress on your vagina for about a minute. Give a beak of about one minute and then do it again. Repeat it a couple of times. You can also wash your vagina with ice-cold water for instant relief from irritation.
