Lemon possesses anti-inflammatory and anesthetic properties, which are helpful in treating the symptoms of mosquito bites.All you need to do is cut a lemon into two halves. Then rub one half of the affected area. This will provide quick relief from the itching. You can also rub the yellow rind of lemon instead of whole lemon.Besides, applying some lemon juice also reduces the chance of developing a skin infection. Try another concoction by mixing crushed basil leaves and some lemon juice together. Apply this paste on the affected area for quick healing.
Tea tree oil is universally known to be an antiseptic and thus, helps in treating wounds that have been infected with bacteria. It also reduces other symptoms like swelling and itching.Just apply some tea tree oil directly on the affected skin using a clean cotton ball. However, do not use this oil in case you have a sensitive skin or suffering from skin irritation. Try other essentials oils such as lavender and cedar.
Both onion and garlic help in reducing swelling and soothing itching caused by a mosquito bite. This is because of their strong, pungent smell that acts as a repellent for mosquito.All you need to do is apply some minced garlic or onion directly on the affected area. You can also apply their juice directly. Let it stay for a few minutes and then wash off with tap water.
Aloe vera is also a natural antiseptic agent and thus, helps in being a superb remedy for mosquito bites. Aloe vera alleviates pain, itching and swelling. This way it helps in speeding up the healing process.Just extract some gel from an aloe leaf. If you can get fresh aloe gel it would be better. However, aloe gel is available in the market as well. Just keep the gel in the refrigerator for 15 minutes and then apply it directly on the affected area.
Baking soda is also very effective in curing itchiness caused due to a by mosquito bite. Since baking soda is alkaline in nature, it neutralizes the pH level of the skin and therefore, provides instant relief.Just mix one teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and stir well. Then dip a clean piece of cloth in this solution and then cover the affected skin with it for around 20 minutes.You can prepare another concoction by mixing witch hazel and baking soda. Dab some of it on your infected skin and then allow it to dry. Later wash off with lukewarm water.
Salt is quite a common remedy for mosquito bite because of the presence of antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties in it.Just make a paste by mixing a few drops of water and a small amount of salt. Apply this paste on the affected skin and then allow it to dry.Try another concoction by making a paste using garlic salt, seasoning salt and some water. Mix well and then apply it on your skin.
