What are carrier oils?

Carrier oils are of a vegetable origin possessing highly therapeutic properties which help in calming our mind and body.These are extracted from nuts and seeds by cold pressing as this process do not destroy the essential fatty acids and other vitamin contents that are required for the body.

Carrier oils provide much-needed lubrication allowing hands to move freely over the skin, helping with the absorption of essential oils into the body. Carrier oils are light, non-sticky and effectively penetrate the skin. But most importantly they should 100% pure, unrefined and cold pressed in order to extract all the benefits.

The most common carrier oils are

olive oil, coconut oil, Apricot kernel, Avocado, Grape seed etc.

How to use carrier oils?

Basic guidelines-

  • Do not pour the carrier oils inside the ears or near the private parts.
  • Read the label to determine if dilution is necessary.
  • NOTE- all the oils should be diluted for children below the age of 5.
  • Pregnant woman and those with high blood pressure and elderly should consult a doctor before using carrier oils.

Notice allergies-

  • The first week of usage of any product is very important; it is within this period that any allergic reactions or drastic changes can be witnessed. Under such circumstances stop using the product and consult a doctor immediately.

Almond oil-

Apricot kernel oil-

Moisturizing, Emollient, Nourishing, Prevents Wrinkles, Laxative, Antioxidant Properties, Anti-Inflammatory.

Also good for: 

Dry Skin, Sensitive Skin, Inflammation, Aged Skin, to reduce irritation and it can also be used to reduce premature aging.


Avocado oil-


Vitamin A, B1, B2, D, E, Amino Acids, Pantothenic Acid, Sterols


Moisturizing, Very Penetrating, Improves Skin Elasticity, Increases Collagen, Removes Impurities from Skin. Blends well with other carrier oils

Castor oil-


Vitamin E

Coconut oil-


Vitamin E, Squalene, Sterol, Tocopherols


Moisturizing, Conditioning, Protective Properties, Does not clog pores, Non-Greasy, Doesn’t stain, and Helps extend shelf life of other carrier oils and refined oils

Also good for:
