Anemia is common disease in which there blood count reduces in the body. The hemoglobin level falls drastically. When nutrients like iron, vitamin B 12 or folic acid are there in the body in less quantity, it may lead to anemia.   1. Spinach

Dieticians suggest that just half cup of spinach in a day is quite sufficient to cure anemia. This green leafy vegetable is a rich source of vitamin A, B9, E and C, iron, fiber, calcium and beta carotene. This half cup of boiled spinach contains 3.2 mg of iron, which constitutes to about 20 per cent of the daily requirement for a woman. Make sure you boil the spinach before its consumption else the oxalic acid present in it will hinder the absorption of iron in the body.

  1. Tomatoes

More than the consumption of iron, it is its absorption by the body, which is essential. Tomatoes are really helpful in performing this function. Tomatoes are a rich source of vitamin C and lycopene. It is this vitamin C, which is an essential requisite for consumption of iron in the body. So, consume at least two raw tomatoes in a day. To consume it, gather one tablespoon each of sesame seeds and honey. Soak these seeds in warm water for about two hours. Later drain and grind them to get a smooth paste. Add honey to this paste and consume it twice in a day.

You can try another concoction as well. For this, you need one tablespoon of black sesame seeds, one cup of milk and two spoons of honey. Soak these seeds in water for about two hours. Later grind them into a smooth paste. Now strain it to get its emulsion. Mix it into a cup of milk. Add honey to sweeten the concoction. Drink this milk at least once in a day.
