Maintain a good posture by routinely checking your alignment against a wall. You don’t want your spine to stiffen into a bent position, neither keep it tall and straight.

  2. Good posture in bed: Your posture while you sleep is also very important. Use a firm bed and a pillow that will help in supporting your neck properly. Avoid using a pillow that’s too high. Sleeping on your belly can be the best for your posture, but some people can only sleep on their sides or back. If you're one of those people, try spending a few minutes, lying face down on your bed, while you are still awake. For comfort, you can keep turning your head from side to side. This exercise will help in promoting a better daily posture. Work up to a twenty minutes session to help with your back pain relief.

  3. Acupuncture: This is an ancient technique that involves inserting really narrow needles through the skin that may stimulate your body’s natural pain relievers. Studies on acupuncture for back pain relief have had mixed results. It has helped quite some people with their back pain. According to the Spondylitis Association of America (SAA), there is enough research that supports acupuncture for chronic pain relief, to give it a try.   4. Yoga: Yoga is a great and a natural pain reliever for spondylitis. Start with the very basic poses and stay patient, and if you work with a proper instructor who can modify and customize the yoga positions for you, you can get great benefits from this form of exercise. A 2013 review of yoga for lower back pain published in The Clinical Journal of Pain; looked at 10 controlled experiments that involved 967 people. The conclusion: There was strong evidence for short-term and moderate evidence for long-term back pain relief from yoga.
