Immunity of the body is defines as its capacity to fight against various diseases and infections. The immune system of the body is made up of special cells, tissues and chemicals that fight infections, bacteria and other diseases. The white blood cells that make up the immune system are produced in the bone marrow and these move through the tissues and blood and every time a bacteria or a microbe is encountered by these cells, the immune system remembers it and whenever the body comes in contact with the microbe again, it is killed by the immune system. The immune system also produces proteins called antibodies that neutralize the toxins and infections that are produced by germs. Thus it is essential to maintain the health of the immune system. An unhealthy immune system is an invitation to infections and germs to attack the body and makes the body more susceptible to infections as well as a wide range of diseases.

The easiest and the best way in which the immune system can be rendered healthy is by eating a well-balanced and a healthy diet. In addition, drinking lots of water, getting enough sleep and maintaining a healthy lifestyle boost the immunity to a great extent.
