As per a study published in the journal Pharmacological Research, people who regularly consume olive oil are much less likely to develop cardiovascular diseases, including hypertension (high blood pressure), stroke, and hyperlipidemia (high blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels).

Natural olive oil is extracted from the fruit of the Olea europaea. Olive tree is a traditional crop found in Mediterranean region, where olives are pressed to produce olive oil. If we talk about the benefits of natural olive oil what I feel they are unrivalled and can’t be expressed in words. Olive oil has a lot to bless us for our overall well- being. Daily intake of olive oil aids to decelerate inflammation, thrombosis, carbohydrate metabolism & endothelial dysfunction.

Depression- A diet rich in olive oil can protect us from mental illness. Recent researchers have found that intaking a good amount of olive oil and polyunsaturated fats, present in vegetable oils are associated with a lower risk of depression. According to a study by University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain, published in PLoS ONE, olive oil seems to have protective effect regarding depression risk.

Strokes- olive oil helps to prevent the strokes in aged people. A research found that older people who used olive oil in their food, salad or with bread on regular basis had 41% lower risk of stroke, compared with those who never consumed it.

Diabetes- usually a low-fat diet is known and prescribed to prevent various heart diseases and diabetes. However studies have shown that the risk of certain diseases may increase with diets that are high in fat. Olive oil is recommended to diabetic patients’ reason being it contains monounsaturated fat that actually protects from many chronic diseases and helps to regulate blood sugar level in the body. That’s why daily consumption of olive oil is essential for overall wellness.
