Nowadays, it is true that being a child is not child’s play. Right from the time a baby is born, it starts the learning process and its brain too starts growing. As the kid cross each mile stones, parents are anxious as to assess the capabilities of their children andmemory plays a great role. Some kids have excellent memory power while some kids may lag in remembering things. It’s not their fault and it is possible to boost memory power and brain cells by following some effective natural tips.

Our brains are powerful organic machines which control all thought, movement, and sensation with lightning speed. They store an immense amount of data as images, text, and concepts. Our brains also regulate thousands of complex functions, without us being consciously aware of each minute actions such as with circadian rhythm, hormone balance, breathing, unconscious activity, and blood flow. This means the brain is constantly working, even when we sleep.

This also makes our brain the most energy greedy organ in our bodies, weighing only 2% of our total body weight but consuming more than 20% of our caloric intake. Then half of that energy goes toward the bioelectrical messages our brains send spiraling through the neurons and throughout the body.

It is said that every time you learn a new thing or memorize a pattern or shape, the brain cells grow and change accordingly. So, the brain of a child is ever growing and it is very necessary to provide brainboosting foods during childhood for getting superior memory power.

Here are some super foods which brain loves to absorb:

Coconut Oil:Coconut oil contains medium chain triglycerides that the body uses for energy, leaving glucose for the brain. It also seems to have a beneficial effect on blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol. Anything that benefits the heart and circulation also benefits the brain. Coconut oil acts as an anti-inflammatory as well and has been linked to helping prevent Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Almonds:Almondsare an excellent Ayurvedic remedy to help improve memory and brainpower. They are rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids that boost memory. Due to their rich antioxidant content, almonds are good for your eyes, too.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids:Increasing your animal-based omega-3 fat intake and reducing consumption of damaged omega-6 fats (think processed vegetable oils) in order to balance your omega-3 to omega-6 ratio, is also important. I prefer krill oil to fish oil, as krill oil also contains astaxanthin, which not only protects the omega-3 fats from oxidation but also appears to be particularly beneficial for brain health.

Nuts: Nuts, especially walnuts and almonds, are extremely good for the brain and nervous system. They are great sources of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, vitamin B6, and vitamin E. Vitamin E has been shown to prevent many forms of dementia by protecting the brain from free radicals, and it improves brain power.

Quinoa:Quinoa is an excellent source of complex carbohydrates and fiber to balance blood sugar while providing the essential glucose the brain craves. Quinoa is also a good source for iron to keep the blood oxygenated and B vitamins to balance mood and protect blood vessels. It is also gluten free for those with sensitivities to this protein.

Whole Grains:Whole grains are rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber, and some omega 3 fatty acids that protect the heart and brain from damaging sugar spikes, cholesterol, blood clots, and more. Grains also contain B vitamins that have an effect on blood flow to the brain and mood. Whole grains should be soaked, fermented, sprouted, or grown as microgreens to unlock all their nutritional power and minimize any anti-nutrients.
