Spinach- the leave very green vegetable that you look at and go yuck, but this leafy green food is rich in minerals and vitamins that are excellent for you. The Organically grown spinach is the best form of spinach to consume. All leafy vegetables absorb the maximum amount of pesticides and chemicals. So, if you do not want these chemicals to get transferred to your body, choose to have the organic variety. Having a good amount to spinach provides you with lots of Iron, Vitamins A, B and K, fibre; it is high in potassium and low-fat.

The following are some interesting organic spinach recipes that will leave you craving for more, the ingredients are not difficult to get and the cooking time is not more than fifteen to twenty minutes per dish-

  1. Creamy spinach soup-
  • A bunch of spinach boiled and pureed
  • A teaspoon of garlic paste
  • A teaspoon of ginger paste
  • Two tablespoons of onion paste
  • A pinch of Oregano
  • 2 Basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper
  • One tablespoon of corn flour
  • Some milk

 

Heat olive oil in a pan, add the garlic and ginger. Wait till the mix is slightly brownish, add the onions and cook till the onions mix is completely brown and the oil separates. Then add the basil and oregano. Wait till you get the aroma. Then add the spinach and mix well. Keep pouring water from time to time to prevent the mix from getting burnt. Cook till the oil separates. Add two cups of water. When the mix starts boiling, add corn flour (after making into a paste with water). Wait till the soup thickens slightly, add half a cup of milk and heat it a bit. Serve hot.

 

  1. Spinach rolls- This a snack that you can have at any time.
  • A bunch of Spinach boiled and pureed
  • Half a teaspoon of garlic
  • Cheese grated
  • A pinch of oregano
  • Salt and pepper
  • Flour

 

Heat some oil in a pan. Add the garlic and cook till it is brown. Add the spinach and cook it well. Add the cheese and mix well. Add oregano and add the salt and pepper. The mix should be like a paste. Make dough out of the flour and flatten the same into small circles that are not more of 2 inches in radius. Spread the paste on the dough. Roll it up and deep fry till the crust it brownish in colour.

 

  1. Crackling spinach-
  • Two bunched of spinach finely chopped, washed and dried
  • White sesame seeds, roasted, till they are slightly brownish
  • Chopped garlic
  • Powdered sugar
  • Salt and pepper

 

Heat some oil in a pan. Deep fry the spinach till it is crisp.

 

Heat another pan and sauté the garlic and sesame seeds. Wait till the seeds start crackling. Then add the spinach, salt pepper and sugar and stir gently. Serve nice and hot.

 

  1. Eggs and Spinach Salad- You can have this delicious and healthy meal as a heavy breakfast or as for any of your other meals.
  • A few Spinach leaves, after cleaning and drying
  • Two eggs
  • A little rice vinegar
  • 1 Sweet Potatoes diced
  • Three Cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • Onions or spring onions finely chopped

 

Bring water to boil. Then lower the heat. Add a teaspoon of vinegar. Crack the eggs one at a time. The white should be well done while the yolk can be slightly runny. Cook the sweet potatoes till they are golden brown. Sauté garlic and spinach, with salt and pepper.

 

Heat oil in a pan, add a teaspoon of rice vinegar and add the vegetables and stir more a bit, the vegetables should not get too soggy. Lay them out on a plate and then add the eggs on top. You can also add bacon or sausages to the salad if you wish, or chicken strips after grilling them.
