Organic lipsticks are nothing new. They’ve been around for a while and they’re much loved and championed by its patrons. You get no points for guessing what the main argument in support of organic lipsticks and make-up in general is - they’re organic. No chemicals, no long-term damage to your lovely, natural skin, no oily residue.

And they’re right. Most cosmetic products do cause a worrying amount of skin problem in the long run, so it’s sensible to run towards something organic (especially Organic Lipsticks), something that will highlight your beauty without reducing its lifespan. The question here though is whether these organic products can match chemical products in this ability to highlight.

Yes, they most certainly can. They can stand up to all those products lined up in the windows of salon stores. With the added benefit of being free from chemicals, why not? Lipsticks are believed to contain the highly toxic element lead, which we all know to be severely perilous to health. In infrequent cases, it may not amount to much, but lipstick worn over the years could increase the lead intake to a reasonably serious level. Hence, avoid it.

There are a number of brands veering towards organic products and it’s a good thing that they are too. Some of these products, like All-Natural Lipsticks are impeccable and will hopefully, become the go-to products for cosmetic needs.

What Exactly Is An Organic Product, Though?

Organic products are substances which are manufactured only from ingredients extracted from plants. As a result, there’s little reaction from the body, little irritation. Chemical substances can be absorbed into the skin, making them lethal in the long run, and in some cases, over 50% of a topical substance can be absorbed through the skin, which is a very troublesome thought.

There’s more to organic makeup than just health benefits though. Because they’re so rich in organic material, such as fatty acids and oils, they tend to have a moisturizing effect on the skin, giving the skin more benefits than just that of beauty.

If you’re the person who objects to animal abuse that is fairly common in cosmetic production, then organic make-up is an excellent alternative for you.

The Downsides

All goods things have their flaws and it is no different with organic makeup. As they’re free from the same chemical preservatives that damage your skin, they tend to spoil much quicker. This short shelf life means you’ll have to make relatively more use of your products if you want to get every penny’s worth.

It was previously argued that there was little variety in organic makeup, but that disadvantage no longer exists. There are plenty of products and brands out there and a lot of variety for your selection, like Vermillion Organic Lipstick, and in different colours like Setting Sun Lipstick, Bronze Lipstick or a simple Brown Lipstick. The organic makeup world is only getting bigger, so the fear that you won’t have much choice should quickly be dropped.

Things To Look Out For

Ensure that the product is certified organic by an authority. It should say so on the label. Look for a statement or emblem that states that no animal testing was carried out for the production of the product.

As for what product is best for you, we leave it to your better judgement. Whether it’s one item or another, there will definitely be something out there for you. Worry not!

Given that we expose ourselves to some much toxic material, both internal and external, it is almost demanded of us that we find a better non-toxic solution where possible. Products like the - and the - are real lifesavers here, and are infinitely safer than chemically treated products. There’s no sacrifice in the original purpose either - you’ll look just as stunning as before. What’s more, you’ll look stunning for longer, because you won’t be subjecting your skin to the harsh effects of chemical cosmetics.

Think twice then, before your next cosmetic purchase. You won’t regret it.
