  1. Fenugreek

Fenugreek is another great herb used for treating several hair related problems. It is a rich source of protein and amino acids, which help in boosting hair growth and getting rid of dandruff. Also, it contains a substance called lecithin, which prevents hair fall. To use it, take two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and soak them in a bowl of water overnight. Next morning, grind them into a paste and then, apply it onto your scalp. After about an hour, wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

  1. Baking Soda

Baking soda is a multi-tasking ingredient for sure. It is used for curing several skin and hair related problems. So, make sure you keep this ingredient handy at home. It basically exfoliates the dead skin of the scalp, thus treating the dandruff flakes. It also kills the fungus on the scalp, which may also cause dandruff. To use baking soda, just mix one tablespoon of this powder to one cup of warm water. You can pour in a few drops of rosemarry oil to this liquid. Store in a shampoo bottle and wash your hair with it once a week. Besides, you can also mix some baking soda in your regular shampoo to combat dandruff.

Neem leaves are used as an age-old remedy to treat dandruff. They help in providing relief from the itchiness caused due to dandruff flakes. Also, it has anti-fungal properties, which keeps dandruff-causing fungus at bay. All you need to do is take a handful of neem leaves and soak them in a big bowl of water overnight. Strain the liquid the next morning and grind the leaves to form a paste. Apply this paste on your scalp and allow it to dry. Afterwards, wash off with tap water. Do it at least once a week for quick relief.

Lemons are also helpful in curing dandruff woes during winter months. To use it all you need to do is massage juice of one lemon on your scalp and then, allow it to dry. Then add one spoon of lemon juice in a cup of water and rinse your hair with it. Do it regularly for instant relief.

  1. Tea Tree Oil

Natural oil produced by the scalp is one of the root causes of dandruff. However, application of another oil, which is tea tree oil, can treat it. Tea tree oil is known world over for its medicinal properties. Besides, it is also used for treating burns, acne and hair fall. It contains anti-fungal properties, thus keeping skin infections at bay. However, owing to its strong nature, it is rarely applied directly. To make an anti-dandruff treatment, you need one tablespoon of tea tree oil. Add it to one cup of lukewarm water and then pour it in a squirt bottle. Once you have shampooed your hair, spray this liquid onto your scalp and massage well.

Rinsing hair with apple cider vinegar is a sure shot treatment of dandruff during winters. This is effective because it directly targets the roots from where the dandruff erupts. To use it, you need half cup of lukewarm water and apple cider vinegar each. Just mix them together and rinse your tresses with this water. Do not wash your hair for about 12 hours.
