‘Age is no barrier, it is a limitation you put on the mind!’

It is absolutely true that ageing can’t be stopped. But, we can prevent it from showing its effect on our skin to a certain extent. When we are young, the skin has its own mechanism of rejuvenation. However, as we age, this process of skin renewal becomes slower and thus signs of ageing start getting reflected on our skin. Now, if you are still unaware of this process then check out for the following signs on your skin:

  • Rough and dry skin.
  • Slack skin (loss of elastic tissue in the skin that causes the skin to hang loosely).
  • More transparent skin (caused by the thinning of the epidermal layer of the skin).
  • More fragile and bruised skin.

Also, look out for the following clear signs:

  • Dark spots.
  • Sagging skin
  • Dull glow.
  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Dry skin
  • Patchy skin
  • Open pores

It is apparent for the skin to start showing the above mentioned signs with age and perhaps it is an inevitable part of life. But, there is good news, just follow the following to condense these adverse effects:

  1. Adapt a good skin care routine:

This is really obvious! Always follow the three steps: scrub, cleanse and moisturise. These are the basics for skin care and must be adhered to religiously. Go for a scrubber, cleanser and moisturiser that suit your skin the best.

  1. Chemical Exfoliants:

It is recommended to exfoliate the skin twice every week. And is a powerful method to attain a luminous skin.

  1. Facial :

Facials like chemical peels and microdermabrasion help a lot in preventing and repairing aging by rapidly exfoliating surface layers of the skin. It also minimises the fine wrinkles. So try out fruit or any other facial types to reduce skin problems.

  1. Antioxidants:

Free radicals are the culprits behind wrinkles, non-gravity defying, eye bags etc. antioxidants prevent them from damaging the skin. These are present in abundance in vitamin C, alpha- lipoic acid, green tea/white tea.

So savour the green tea and bid adieu to skin aging.

  1. Sunscreen:

It is the most imperative thing for the protection of the skin. Always keep yourself protected from the harmful UV rays of the sun. So use sunscreen as it proves to be highly beneficial in the long run.

  1. Healthy lifestyle:

Last and surely not the least! This is the most crucial step and should never be understated or overlooked. Go for a healthy lifestyle and barge on the most nutritious food to look young forever.

A healthy lifestyle, if accompanied by all the mentioned practises, leads to a spotless and ever glowing skin.
