You know those pesky dark circles that are adamant to stay there on your face in spite of all the remedies you try, add years to your age. It seems hopeless to attempt to get rid of them, with all the creams and washes in the world making no difference whatsoever. Now let nature have a try.

There are many factors that cause the formation of dark circles including spending long hours in front of the computer. Some of the reasons include:

  • Aging of skin
  • Dry skin
  • Crying for long durations
  • Lack of sleep
  • Unhealthy diet
  • Stress both mental and physical

Although they are not a skin problem which is serious and requires immediate attention, they make the person look tired, unhealthy and older. A lot of natural remedies have been proven to be effective in combating dark circles and they are:

  • Almond oil

As almond oil is rich in vitamin E, it is effective in eliminating dark circles under the eyes. By massaging almond oil under the eyes before going to sleep and leaving it overnight, a lot of the dark pigmentation can be removed. Rinse off the oil once you wake up in the morning.

  • Cucumber

Due to the mild astringent properties that are present in cucumbers, they help to reduce dark circles naturally. Cut cucumber into slices and leave them on your eyes for a while. When you take them off your eyes will be left feeling refreshed and your dark circles will be lighter.

  • Potato

The natural bleaching agents present in raw potato help to reduce the discoloration under your eyes, thereby leaving you looking healthy and fresh naturally. To get rid of dark circles, grate a raw potato and extract its starchy juice. Use a cotton swab to apply it over your eyes. Thick potato slices can also be used.

  • Rose water

Rose water is great for rejuvenating the skin and therefore getting rid of dark circles. The astringent properties of rosewater make it ideal for treatments to rejuvenate and revive dry and aged skin. By applying rose water under the eyes, you will be able to see a marked difference in the intensity of your dark circles.

  • Tomato

The bleaching properties of tomato juice make it ideal to lighten the skin and thereby hide dark circles . By mixing it with lemon juice and applying under the eyes, tomato juice will be effective in combating the dark pigmentation under your eyes.

These natural remedies are very effective in helping reduce dark circles and if they don’t work, there are a lot of organic anti-pigmentation products available on Joy by Nature that you can access by clicking right here.
