The hot scorching summer hardly leaves you with any option to dress up, and winter is the season we look forward. But winter can be harsh on your skin and lips. It leaves your lips dry and cracked, a source of embarrassment for you especially when you are all dressed up. But with all the natural sources available to us to make our chapped and dried lips look lovely, why worry?

With the never-ending benefits of coconut oil, this one for healing your cracked lips, you hardly need to look beyond your kitchen for a remedy to your dried lips. Coconut oil is one of the best remedies for dry lips and skin during winter. Apply a small amount of this wonder oil on your lips before going to bed. Rest assured that within a week your lips will be lovely as before once more. You can even replace your chemical lip balm with coconut oil as applying chemical lip balms can harm your soft lips.

Coconut oil also functions as a good scrubber. Mix this natural scrubber with lime, which is essential for removing off the dry skin, and honey, which is a good moisturizer. Combine these ingredients and apply the thick paste on your lips. Leave it on your lips for some time and then wash it with away water. Use this great scrubbing pack at least three times in a week and see the magic that it creates on your lips.

Aloe vera

Even though aloe vera tastes unpleasant, its healing properties are well-known. This naturally occurring healer can be found even in your garden. Extract the gel from its leaves and apply it on your lips. Aloe vera’s hygroscopic property allows it to attract moisture from the air and provide relief to your dry lips. Mix honey and milk and apply it on your lips. Leave it on overnight and see how your lips regain their softness within a short time. Alternately, you can apply honey with glycerin at night to enjoy soft lips the next day.

You can also make a very effective lip scrub by mixing honey with sugar or honey with lime. Apply the mixture on your lips and then rub your lips gently with your fingertips. Leave the mixture on your lips for half an hour and then wipe it off with cotton.
