Who does not wish to have long and lustrous locks? But once they start falling, they not only ruin your overall beauty but also are a sign of some underlying ailment.

There are several factors contributing to hair loss. Some of them include environmental effects, stress, aging, excessive smoking, nutritional deficiencies, genetics, hormonal imbalance, scalp infection, thyroid, chemical based hair products and so on.

Losing around 50 to 100 hair strands in a day is considered normal. But losing more is definitely a reason to worry about. You can try several home based treatments to cure the problem of hair fall. We have listed down a few such solutions for you. Read on!

  1. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera consists of enzymes, which are responsible for boosting hair growth. Moreover, its alkalizing properties maintain the pH balance of both hair and scalp, thus reducing hair fall.

Use of aloe vera helps in reducing scalp itching, redness and inflammation. It also strengthens and adds luster to hair.

Just apply some aloe vera gel or juice on your scalp. Allow it to stay for a few hours and then wash off with lukewarm water. Do it at least four times in a week. Besides, you can also consume a tablespoon of aloe vera juice regularly on empty stomach.

  1. Hair Oil Massage

Massage the scalp with some oil boosts blood circulation, which further strengthens your hair and boost its growth.  Hair massage also eases stress and promotes relaxation.

You can massage your hair with several types of oils like coconut, almond, olive, castor or amla.  You can also add a few drops of rosemary oil to any of the above mentioned base oils for better results.

Thoroughly massage your hair starting from your scalp and then going down to the ends. D o it at least two times in a week.

  1. Amla

For faster hair growth, amla is definitely a great remedy. Amla is a rich source of vitamin C, the deficiency of which can lead to hair fall.

It also possesses anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties, which ensure a good health of both scalp and hair, thus boosting growth.

All you need to do is add one tablespoon each of amla pulp and lemon juice. Mix well and then, massage your scalp with the mixture. Cover your tresses with a shower cap and leave it on overnight. Shampoo your locks the next morning.

  1. Fenugreek

Fenugreek is said to be your hair’s best friend. It helps in curing several types of ailments related to your tresses, particularly hair loss. Fenugreek seeds consist of hormone antecedents, which improve hair growth. They also have proteins and nicotinic acid, essential for stimulating growth.

Just soak a of fenugreek seeds in some water overnight. Grind them into a paste the next morning and then, apply onto your tresses. Wash off well after about an hour. Do it at least three times in a week for best results.

  1. Flaxseeds

Flaxseeds too are helpful in preventing hair fall. It is because they are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are responsible for prevent hair fall and thus, encouraging growth.

To prevent hair loss, take one tablespoon of freshly ground flaxseeds and consume them with a glass of water. Do it daily first thing in the morning. Besides, incorporate flaxseeds in your daily diet in form of salads, soups, smoothies, and several other recipes.

Also, massage your tresses with some flaxseed oil. It not only prevents hair loss but also strengthens them.

  1. Coconut Milk

Coconut milk is a rich source of protein and essential fats, needed for promoting hair growth and thus preventing their loss.

To make coconut milk, grate some fresh coconut in a pan and add water to it. Mix well and let it simmer. Strain this decoction and let it cool down. Apply this milk on your tresses for 20 minutes and then, shampoo your hair.
