It is quite natural for babies to get a rash. But do not blame yourself for it. It does not implicate that you do not take care of baby properly. But, make sure that you treat these rashes on time as it may lead to severe infections. We bring to you some natural remedies, which can save your baby from a worsened condition.

But before we do that, let us take a look at some reasons as to why a rash occurs.

Less frequently changed diapers is one of the main reasons behind rashes and inflammation in the skin. Some of the other causes are food allergies, indigestion and yeast infection. These causes can lead to symptoms such as inflammation, redness in the skin and blisters.

  1. Vinegar

As urine is alkaline in nature, a prolonged exposure to a dirty diaper can burn the skin. To reduce this acidic effect, use vinegar solution. For this, take one part of vinegar and eight parts of water to wash baby’s bottom. Also, if you are using reusable diapers, just add one cup of vinegar in a bucket of water to rinse them off. This will kill all the bacteria present in them.

  1. Breast milk

This is an unusual solution but surely an effective one. Applying breast milk to baby’s rash can really help in healing it. All you need to do is just rub a few drops of milk on the rash and then, let it dry. Use a fresh diaper after some time.

    3. Coconut oil

From making the skin glow, increasing hair volume to treating rashes, coconut oil does it all. Yes, this oil works wonders for a baby rash. Just dab some oil on the affected area; it will definitely provide some relief to the otherwise irritated skin.

  1. Oatmeal

This is a superfood for sure. It is not only good for health when consumed, but is also used in several face scrubs. Moreover, it is also effective in treating a baby rash. Just blend it into your mixer to form a fine powder. Add it to a tub of water until the mixture becomes smooth and soft. Let your child soak in its benefits for at least half an hour.  Give a bath to your baby after that.

Oatmeal is used in several exfoliating scrubs. 

  1. Yogurt

This is a popular ingredient for treating rashes in general. It soothes the skin and reduces inflammation. While treating on babies, make sure you use a sugar-free version. Apply a layer on the rash and let it dry. Repeat it before changing the diaper every time. 

  1. Apple cider vinegar 

A spoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in half cup of water is a great remedy to treat diaper rash. The anti-bacterial properties in it can kill all the bacteria, thus providing relief to the baby’s skin. Just apply this solution on the skin with a wash cloth. Later rinse it off. 

  1. Baking soda 

Adding baking soda to bath water can also help in treating baby rash. Just dissolve two spoons of it before taking your baby for a bath. It will soak in all the irritation, which is making your baby cranky.

    8. Washcloth wipes

Avoid using wet wipes available in the market. Instead use wash cloths dipped in warm water. At times, commercial wipes may contain certain chemicals, which may harm baby skin. 

  1. Tea tree oil

Owing to its anti-microbial properties, tea tree oil works great on rashes. However, do not use it alone. Try mixing it with coconut oil.  Take two spoons of coconut oil and add five drops to tea tree oil to it. Apply it on a baby rash to provide some relief to your baby.

   10. Shea butter

As shea butter contains anti-fungal, yeast killing and anti-inflammatory properties, it can easily help in healing baby rash.
